

Foundation to host eleventh annual Fellows reception & dinner
The bar foundation will induct the Fellows Class of 2008 at its eleventh annual Fellows reception and dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at LeMont Restaurant.
Keynote speaker will be award-winning documentary filmmaker Rory Kennedy. Ms. Kennedy's Emmy award-winning documentary "Ghosts of Abu Gharib" has been lauded for its exploration of abuses at Iraqi prison camps. The documentary won acclaim at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and was televised on HBO. Other documentaries of Ms. Kennedy include: The Homestead Strike," part of the History Channel's series "Ten Days That Unexpectedly Changed America"; "Street Fight" (Academy Award nomination for "Best Documentary"), following the 2002 Newark, N.J.mayoral race between Sharpe James and Cory Booker; "American Hollow" (Emmy nomination for "Non-Fiction Primetime"), which tells the story of a modern-day Appalachian family; "A Boy's Life" ("Best Documentary" at the Woodstock Film Festival), a story of a young child from impoverished Mississippi; and "Pandemic: Facing AIDS," which documents the lives of five people around the globe suffering with HIV/AIDS. Other films include: "Epidemic Africa," "Fire in Our House," "Juvies," "The Changing Face of Beauty," "Travelers," "Different Moms," "Healthy Start," "The Nazi Officer's Wife," "Sixteen" and "Girlhood."
Ms. Kennedy is the co-founder/president of Moxie Firecracker Films, Inc. and is the youngest child of the late United States Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
The 2007 Pro Bono Award winners will also be honored at the dinner for their strong commitment to pro bono work in the community.
Funds raised through the Fellows Program help to sustain the foundation’s Grants Program.
