

The Allegheny County Bar Foundation made a charitable gift of $13,500 to the Twin Towers Fund in New York City. The Allegheny County Bar Association, individual ACBA members, and the following ACBA Sections made contributions to the foundation in support of the Twin Towers Fund: Environmental Law, Health Law, Labor & Employment, Real Property and Young Lawyers.
As a result of the tragedies at the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, the City of New York established the Twin Towers Fund. The purpose of the Twin Towers Fund is to assist the families of emergency personnel and other government employees who lost their lives or were injured because of the tragedies at the World Trade Center. Emergency personnel and government employees include:
- The New York City Fire Department and its Emergency Medical Services Command
- The New York Police Department
- The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
- The New York State Office of Court Administration and other government offices
