Giving to the ACBF
The generous support of attorneys, individuals, law firms, private foundations, corporations, and government agencies enables the foundation to operate its ongoing programs and develop new initiatives.
To you, our donors, we offer our sincere thanks for your financial support. We look forward to your continued generosity as we work together to serve the community and legal profession in Allegheny County.
Thank you!

Giving Options
Individual Gifts |
You can opt to make an unrestricted donation to the ACBF, or you may designate a gift to any of the funds listed below. Either way, we will do our best to ensure that your gift will help as many people as possible.
|
Tribute Gifts |
Gifts made in honor or in memory of someone are a wonderful way to show your appreciation to a family member, colleague, or friend. We will send a letter, acknowledging your gift, to the person (or family of the person) you are honoring. We also recognize tribute gifts in our annual report.
|
Matching Gifts |
You may be able to increase the value of your gift to the ACBF if your employer offers a Matching Gift Program. Check with your Human Resources department to see if a Matching Gift Program is offered through your workplace.
|
Planned Gift |
You can make a lasting impact through a Planned Gift. A charitable bequest to the ACBF will enable our organization to serve the community for years to come. For more information, visit our Planned Giving page.
|
Sponsorship |
Another way to give is through corporate, firm or individual sponsorship. Sponsorships allow our organization to hold fundraising events and raise money for our programs. Sponsorship is a great way for companies and organizations to increase their visibility as well as give back to the community. The ACBF offers sponsorships for various events, including the annual ACBA Golf Tournament and Pro Bono Rocks.
|
In-Kind Donations |
In-kind donations are non-financial gifts in the form of donated goods or services. Examples include donated items that can help us raise money through silent auctions, i.e. opera tickets or restaurant gift certificates. Another example is donating time and expertise, such as volunteering your legal services through our Pro Bono Center.
|
Cy Pres Awards |
Cy Pres Awards are residual funds in class action cases and sometimes other types of proceedings like probate matters that cannot be distributed to the class members or beneficiaries for a variety of reasons. These funds can be distributed to appropriate charitable causes, and the ACBF is an appropriate beneficiary. For more information on Cy Pres Awards, click here.

The ACBF is a non-profit organization that is tax-exempt under 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts made to the ACBF are tax-deductible.
