2019 Grant Recipients

The ACBF Grants Committee recommends that $20,000 in grants be distributed to the following organizations. The grants will be distributed in early 2020.


Provide ongoing education activities for attorneys to enhance their knowledge of special needs/future planning for individuals with disabilities and their families, including a free CLE and Lunch and Learn presentations for local law firms. Increase the number of attorneys available to families who have expertise in special needs training. Provide a free legal clinic for families of individuals with disabilities.

Neighborhood Legal Services

Keep veterans in their homes, protect and secure income for veterans, keep military families together, resolve debt issues and remove legal barriers to employment.

North Hills Community Outreach

To coordinate and administer the participation of low-income individuals in the Ask the Attorney program; to provide individualized assistance and referrals to low-income and/or elderly individuals seeking assistance with legal matters; and to facilitate attendance to workshops on legal topics of specific interest to elderly residents of Allegheny County.
